NBA: Heat set to dominate?

It has been an amazing week in the history of the Miami Heat franchise. Next season, the fans in South Beach will be watching LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on the same team.

And it is a mouth-watering prospect. James, the two-time MVP, broke the hearts of his fans in Cleveland with his decision to join the Heat but it is hard to dispute the fact that his chances of winning a championship have increased overnight.

Playing alongside a superstar like Wade and a talented big man like Bosh was just too good an opportunity to turn down. From a one and done playoff team, Miami have morphed into an Eastern Conference heavyweight.

But is it enough? The new big 3 are a potent force yet Miami still have plenty of work ahead as they look to find suitable role players around them. Mike Miller has been mentioned as one possible recruit but the Heat have very limited wiggle room as far as the salary cap is concerned.

However dominant the trio looks on paper, they cannot create the dynasty they crave without a solid supporting cast. So the Heat front office have some busy weeks ahead as they chase the extra pieces in the puzzle.
