Cricket: Smith hundred rocks England

A miserable day three for England leaves the tourists staring defeat in the face and South Africa skipper Graeme Smith did the bulk of the damage.

England added just 32 runs to their overnight score, ending on 273 all out, and the hosts have since taken charge of the Test.

Smith passed the 150 mark before the close and was ably supported by Hashim Amla's 95. Graeme Swann took the two South African wickets to fall but there was little support elsewhere and England now face an uphill battle to save the game as the home side's lead heads towards 350.
