Chris Paul's key late steal and lay up, combined with Devin Brown's 30-point night, helped the New Orleans Hornets score a 97-91 victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night.
The Hornets, who are recovering well from a dismal start to the season, used a dominant third quarter to move clear of the Jazz and never looked back.
Carlos Boozer had 18 points for Utah, who fall to 18-16 for the year. The Hornets are gaining ground fast and have returned to the .500 mark at 16-16.
With Paul back to full fitness, New Orleans are once again a playoff contender but the Jazz, who have lost three straight, have work to do.
